April is National Poetry Month, and there are lots of ways to celebrate!
- Consider writing a poem every day this month. Visit NaPoWriMo for daily prompts and inspiration.
- Consider reading a poem every day. You could get started with “10 Feminist Poets You Should Know,” a post that includes poems by Maya Angelou, Anne Waldman, Carol Ann Duffy, Margaret Atwood, Lyn Hejinian, Alice Walker, Katha Pollitt, Susan Howe, Carolyn Kizer, and Marge Piercy.
- Poet Chloe Yelena Miller celebrates National Poetry Month by featuring guest bloggers in April. Recently a poem I read inspired me to discover and write about hidden memories. My guest post is called “How to Write When You Don’t Remember.”
- Visit poets.org for a list of 30 ways to celebrate National Poetry Month, including Poem in Your Pocket Day (April 18).
