The key to good eavesdropping is not getting caught.—Lemony Snicket, The Blank Book (A Series of Unfortunate Events)
Lemony Snicket Tells All
Play the video below to hear Lemony Snicket talk about how and why he writes his books. He offers some unsual advice for aspiring writers. For instance, he says that when you become a writer, there’s almost “a smell of misery” because “you know that you’re going to become the sort of person who spoils family gatherings by being gloomy and literary.” He offers a good excuse you can use, too, if you do get caught eavesdropping.
If for some reason you can’t see the video play box above this paragraph, it’s not my fault, and I won’t blame Lemony either, but if you’re feeling miserable about missing out on his depressing insights, if you can’t see the video on this page–like maybe you’re on your iPad or iPhone or I don’t know what–anyway, you can view it here—NOT. Unfortunately, this video has vanished!
